Our story
It all started when…
From an early age, I was exposed to property in many forms, including the people who owned these properties and the stories behind what property meant to them and their families.
My biggest influence was my father who was a registered builder running his own building business and a cattle farmer in his spare time.
My father built our family home so that our family could grow and make memories.
The family farm, as I recall my father explaining, was an investment that would become my parents superannuation so they could enjoy a comfortable retirement.
This retirement fund was supplemented by a diverse property portfolio including land banking to later subdivide, multi unit developments, commercial real estate, renovate and flip projects and one final owner build project before the retirement plan finally came to fruition.
As a young boy I was subconsciously picking up on the clues that property investing can shape a families future and the lifestyle they desire, this seed that was well and truly planted and germinating.
This was further reinforced by visiting what must have been 30-40 of my fathers clients properties. I spent my school holidays out on the job sites through necessity and later for some hard earned pocket money. This consisted of various projects including new builds, extensions, renovations, units for property developers, horse stables, underground wine cellars, all uniquely designed and built to deliver on the clients brief and budget.
Not surprisingly, I dived right into property investing in my early 20’s.
This started with a fixer upper. What I failed to remember was that despite being a builder's son, I was never destined to follow in my father's footsteps.
Whilst I knew every tool of the trade and where to locate it in my father's tool trailer, the art and skill involved in swinging a hammer and operating a circular saw evaded me.
Despite my limitations, I persevered and called in the professional trades when needed.
After a couple of years as an owner-occupier living in and around this reno project, I listed the property for sale, kick-starting my property investment path, now into its 3rd decade.
This journey has since included further investments in regional centres across multiple states.
This is why I am now helping individuals, couples, families kick-start their own property investment journey.
